Briggs 1-A Nice for the grade could have made 35 on a good day.

1869 was the last of the low-mintage dates from the Philadelphia Mint until a decade later.  In the intervening years from 1870-1878, Quarter Dollar mintages ranged from low six figures to a high of nearly eighteen million in 1876.  But, for 1869, the mintage for the Quarter was a mere 16,000 pieces.  Thus, the 1869 tracks the 1866 in terms of value, since both have similar mintages and survival rates.  Mint State examples of the 1869 are scarce to rare (probably leaning to the latter because of resubmissions) and the top example of this date is a PCGS MS66 that sold for $80,500 in 2010.
