The 1871 Three-Cent Silver is a scarce, low mintage date that is desirable in all grades, though they are usually found nice since a high percentage were saved by collectors.  The raw mintage is a mere 3,400 coins, plus 1,000 Proofs.  Mint State versions come nice, usually MS-64 to MS-65.  Even MS-66 and MS-67 examples show decent populations, including 11 at the PCGS MS67 level (as of November 2011).  A small percentage come with Prooflike surfaces.
