Unlike the 1873-CC No Arrows quarter, which is prohibitively rare, the No Arrows half dollar of this date is collectible. Examples are typically seen well worn, although pleasing mid-grade pieces such as this VF25 coin are occasionally available. This piece exhibits original gray-rose patina with slightly darker shades around the outer peripheries. Mintage for this well-detailed example total only 122,500 with ongoing popularity due to the Carson City mintmark. Surfaces are well preserved with minimal contact marks. Housed in PCGS Gen 6.1 (2020-2022) holder with Navy Mustang pedigree on the label. The 1873-CC No Arrows Half Dollar features a mintage almost half that of the 1873-CC With Arrows.  However, both versions are scarce, and both are extremely popular because of their source -- the short-lived Western Mint in Carson City.

The No Arrows version is affordable in some of the lowest grades, but quickly jumps in price in grades of Very Fine or better.  In Mint State, this is a solid, five-figure coin because of the small number of survivors.  Most Mint State 1873-CC No Arrows Half Dollars appear in the range of MS62 to MS64, inclusive, and anything better is an extreme rarity.  The best example is an impressive PCGS MS67.
