Q. David Bowers' more recent (2017) Red Book "A Guide Book Of Gold Eagle Coins" echoes the rarity of Mint State 1874 Eagles above MS62, showing "Submissions certified at highest grades (as of March 2017)" by PCGS and NGC at 14 total.
