The top left edge of an 8 is visible in the lower loop of the 8. The top left corner of the 5 is visible in the lower loop of the 5. A vertical die line is visible to the right of the date. Rev. AH: Shield points connected to the denticles. Olive leaf away from denticles.

The 1895 Indian Head Cent is very common in all grades, including Mint State, where hundreds of certified examples are available in either Brown, Red-Brown, or Red.  The typical, certified Mint State example rates MS64, though there are also hundreds in MS65.  Because Red examples are so prevalent (and therefore affordable), collectors should put their money there.  Nonetheless, the usual rules for Indian Head Cents apply -- look for strong strikes, early die states (non-grainy surfaces), and spot-free surfaces.
