One of the most difficult coins of the series, this deeply originally toned coin is very softly struck even as far as 1901-O Quarters go which are infamous for mushy, soft strikes. None the less, the coin appears fully original; purchased from Leo Frese . The story goes, "One day a couple walked into the shop with a single coin, this coin, wrapped in tissue paper. It was recovered while cleaning out their late father in law's home. It appears it was kept in this tissue paper for decades, undisturbed and unmolested. Certainly the coin's appearance and toning would back this story up, though I certainly do not lay claim to the truth behind the story
