Another exceptional example in this set with beautiful toning exhibiting shades of blue and purple, in addition to being well struck. Total PCGS AU population is 23 with 6 in AU 55 and 11 in AU 58. The BCCS rating is R1.

The 1904 Dime is a common date thanks to a hefty mintage of over 14 million pieces. Most examples are well struck and of the high quality normally associated with the Philadelphia Mint. In some cases, dies were used beyond life expectancy, and some coins struck from those dies exhibit weakness on Liberty's upper lip, and the lettering and devices on the reverse have a mushy, rounded appearance. Some examples show clashing, as well.
The PCGS CoinFacts Condition Census includes MS66 and better examples. The best 1904 Dimes top out at MS67.
