eBay 12/10 jwpgolf - Is this the shade of Minty Fresh RED? Seems there is little of the "red toning" typical of a 100 yr old coin. Very vibrant and reflective luster on both sides. The spotting is not immediately apparent in hand and only slightly visible under a loupe. Note that these images excessively exaggerate the spotting. The 1909 V.D.B. Lincoln cent was highly hoarded and preserved in its' first year of issue. Consequently, many 1909 V.D.B. Lincoln cents survive in immaculate condition today.

Varieties: There are at least two different doubled dies known for this year. Type 1 is the most prominent variety of the two. The doubling is strongest on the date and on the word, Liberty.
