On the 30th of August 2024 and using my ELIKLIV microscope and Vantage 10X loupe to examine this coin and describe it thusly. The Obverse shows a horizontal mark just to the left of the "1" of the date, a mark below the chin, 6 diagonal scratches between the rim edge and the face and even with and below the 1st star, a ding at the mid point of the headdress feather above the "IB" of "LIBERTY", a diagonal mark on the rear cheek below and to the left of the ear, a horizontal mark on the 6th feather up from the bottom about in line with the ear and mouth, a vertical scratch on the neck above the "9" of the date, a ding on the front neck point above the "9" of the date. I see no toning, spotting, or cloudiness. The Reverse has a horizontal mark below the end leaves of the branch held in the eagle's claw, a diagonal mark down and to the right of the 2nd "T" of "TRUST", a line of 6 light vertical dings below the "E" of "WE", a horizontal line of 5 dings in line with the top of the eagle's head and below the "ES OF", light marks below the "F" of "OF", a light mark between the "S" of "PLURIBUS" & "CA" of "AMERICA", a heavy diagonal mark and a ding between the rim edge and the right wing feathers and below the 2nd "A" of "AMERICA". I see small line of purplish color dropping of the top of the "T" of "UNITED" and again at the right edge of the neck across from "PLURIBUS", black color spots on "AMERICA", and a light black color on the front side feathers of the left wing & leg. This is a very nice coin with a minimal of marks for the grade. The Obverse surface is very grainy, the Reverse is much cleaner. This coin is held in a PCGS Generation 6 holder used from May 2014 to October 2020.

The 1911 is a common issue, one of the easiest to obtain in the series. In fact, only the very common 1926 and 1932 are more often seen than this issue. Below gem quality, i.e. MS-64 or less, the 1911 can be located quite easily. True gems are only moderately rare and can be found with little effort. There are some spectacular, nearly perfect examples of this issue in existence.

The 1911 is always well struck and most specimens have finely granular, frosty surfaces. A few specimens, however, have very little granularity and have a satin texture. Lustre varies greatly on this issue from average (for the series) to outstanding. As is always the case, the satiny ones are more radiant than the frosty ones although many of the latter are also extremely lustrous. Color is a strong point of this issue. Light to medium orange and greenish gold is the predominant color but a number of greenish yellow examples are also known.
