On the 1st of September 2024 and using my ELIKLIV microscope and Vantage 10X loupe, I examined this coin and describe it thusly. The Obverse shows a squiggly mark at the rim to the left of the chin, light horizontal scratching just below the chin, diagonal scratch in front of the nose, 2 diagonal scratches at the rim below the first star and to the left of the upper nose, a vertical mark to the left of the eye, a diagonal mark and other scarring between the first 3 stars and the forehead, rubbing on the mid point of the feather above the "E" of "LIBERTY", a long diagonal intermittent light scratch from the front feather and declining down to the feather above the "BE" of "LIBERTY", a heavy vertical mark below the eye, a short heavy mark on the nose tip, a heavy vertical mark in the middle of the cheek, 2 marks on the chin, scarring on the cheek, a horizontal mark on the upper neck moving into the hair, a diagonal mark in the bottom hair roll and moving down onto the neck, a vertical mark on the neck above the "9" of the date. I see no toning, spotting, or cloudiness. The Reverse shows a diagonal mark between the "ST" of "TRUST" and the leaves of the olive branch, a light ding between the "R" of "TRUST" and the last leaves on the olive branch, light horizontal marks to the right of "TE" of "UNITED", 2 dings below the "I" of "UNITED". a diagonal mark below the "TE" of "UNITED", a mark on the 1st "T" of "STATES". light scarring below the "ES OF AMER", marks on the "P" both "U,s" and between the "R" of "PLURIBUS" and the "U" of "UNUM", light scarring below the "CA" of "AMERICA" and "UNUM", a mark on the upper neck of the eagle, 2 diagonal marks to the right of the furthest right tail feathers, a vertical mark to the right of the tail end of the arrows, the left leg on its front side has a diagonal mark at the top and moving down has another horizontal mark then further down another diagonal mark and then at the bottom a little scarring. I see no toning, spotting, or cloudiness. This is a nice coin, again with a better looking Reverse compared to the Obverse. This coin is held in a PCGS Generation 6 holder used from May 2014 to October 2020.

The 1911 is a common issue, one of the easiest to obtain in the series. In fact, only the very common 1926 and 1932 are more often seen than this issue. Below gem quality, i.e. MS-64 or less, the 1911 can be located quite easily. True gems are only moderately rare and can be found with little effort. There are some spectacular, nearly perfect examples of this issue in existence.

The 1911 is always well struck and most specimens have finely granular, frosty surfaces. A few specimens, however, have very little granularity and have a satin texture. Lustre varies greatly on this issue from average (for the series) to outstanding. As is always the case, the satiny ones are more radiant than the frosty ones although many of the latter are also extremely lustrous. Color is a strong point of this issue. Light to medium orange and greenish gold is the predominant color but a number of greenish yellow examples are also known.
