In 1915, the final year of the Barber Half Dollar series, coiners at the Philadelphia Mint produced only 450 Proof "halves." This was the last year in which Proof Half Dollars were made, and none were made for another 21 years in 1936. One of the reasons for the cessation of Proof coinage was World War I; another may have been a waning lack of demand. Either way, 1915 Half Dollars remain one of the scarcest Proofs of the series, with fewer PCGS-certified examples than any other date. Nonetheless, collectors should have no problem finding nice examples of this date, though it will be very diffcult to find a Cameo example in any grade. As with most of the later date Proof Barber Half Dollars, Deep Cameo examples are essentially non-existent.
