The 1917-D Type I is about 5 to 8 times as rare as the 1917 Philadelphia. This is a good coin in both circulated grades and mint state condition. Strike is usually not a problem and maybe as many as 90% of survivors have fully struck heads. Luster can be satiny or slightly frosty. Many mint state examples have  various degrees of toning.
