1923 VAM 1C PCGS MS62 Top 50 "Tail on O" Peace Dollar. This is among the "Top 50" VAM die varieties on Peace Dollars. One of the most exaggerated “Late Die States” (LDS) known. The die crack is below the "O" of "DOLLAR" on the reverse, visible to naked eye. A total of 122 examples in all grades attributed by PCGS at time of purchase, 26 of which graded MS 62. Purchased $250 at eBay 5/23/2022 buy-it-now from seller in Arizona. This was full PCGS retail ($250) at the time, but these are rarely available for sale. However, many previous examples sold for $100+ above retail on Heritage Auctions.
