1925 Peace $1 PCGS MS64 VAM5 Missing Ray "Top 50" die variety, in old blue holder. Purchased 8/7/2023 at Kelleher auction for Connor, as one of 2 coins in Lot 63. The total lot cost $133.70 total ($110 hammer price + 20% commission + 1.5% shipping), of which $75.70 portion was attributed to this coin. The other coin in lot 63 was 1925 NGC MS61 VAM3 DDR Shoulder valued by us as $58 portion. Connor was prepared to bid up to $180 total for the combined lot ($100 for the VAM5 + $80 for the VAM3), but fortunately won it for only $133.70. At the time of purchase, the VAM5 had a PCGS retail value of $250, but Connor noted prior sales range from only $96 to $120. So buying it for just $75.70 was a very low price!
