These coins are fairly common in all grades. A collector should not have much difficulty finding specimens with original color and Full Details. In comparison to coins struck in 1934 and after, these coins could be considered scarce to rare. Note: For fun take a look at the Lincoln cent mintages for 1931, 1932, & 1933 and see if you can find smaller mintages before 1934. According to a notice in the June 1934 issue of The Numismatist (p. 416), collectors could still purchase Uncirculated 1931 Cents for "the face value of the coins and an amount sufficient to cover the mail charrges by first-class mail."
