1934-D Peace Silver Dollar PCGS MS63 VAM 3 DD Obv Med D Top 50, a scarce die variety. Purchased $296.20 eBay 10/11/2023 in 23-bid auction ($281.20 high-bid + $15 shipping) for Connor. This was around the 5th time we had tried to finally win an example at a fair price. Success! At time of purchase, the total PCGS population was 258 known examples, with 51 in MS63 like this example. For comparison, non-VAM examples of 1934-D MS63 retail $425, and typically sell for around $315-330. So there was essentially no extra premium paid for the VAM die variety feature. Our max bid was as high as $341.11 this time, after having lost out on a similar example at prior Heritage auction for $376 in 03/2023.
