The 1942-S "Silver" Nickel is a very common coin and is one of the better-preserved of all the "War" Nickels.  The majority of Mint State survivors are in Gem condition, especially in the MS-65 and MS-66 grades.  Full Step versioins represent approximately 10% of the coins certified to date.  The finest examples certified by PCGS as of January 2012 include 64 MS-67 non-Full Step versions and 10 MS-67 Full Steps.
