The 1951 Proof Franklin Half Dollar has the second lowest mintage in the series. Most examples that were struck still exist since Proof coins have always carried a premium, therefore, they have a much larger survival rate than circulation strike coins. Most 1951 Proof Franklin Half Dollars that still exist are raw with most of them being in PR60-PR64 condition. Examples in PR65 condition and higher are probably already certified. In PR67 they are very scarce with possibly less than 200 examples in existence with no PR68 examples known.
