Bought these errors decades ago when others dealers in Madrid told me I was crazy for wasting my time on them! Having been stationed in Spain when these were minted and subsequent years, I have a very good insight on their history…. Out of an estimated mintage of 30,000 pieces, many pieces were mishandled, and cleaned leaving a minuscule amount which may or may not grade choice or gem uncirculated. I would wager very few gems exist?? PCGS needs to look at their weighting system for this variety as it is NOT A common coin and should be weighted about an 8, not the 1 it is weighted at! This variety is approximately 200 to 300 times the value of the entire remainder of this set combined!
