[RG-033]* 1994-R Marshall Islands $10 Mythological Mother Earth MS69 { PCGS-5 }. Part of a 12-piece tribute to “Wonders of the Solar System”, this brass round gem features an allegorical Mother Earth seated beside the planet. The Zodiac sign for Earth makes it look like she is seated in a wheelchair while holding two toddlers. In Greek mythology her name is Gaia. Although this is the modern coin Ron discussed in his book, he showed no pictures due to its difficulty finding outside of a complete set at that time. Unlike other coins allowed for this set that meet the “Mother Earth” name, this coin’s name includes the full moniker and actually shows her as a woman! Again, the point of this set. For me, I prefer the shortened nickname “Myther Earth”. * Number 33 in Ron Guth’s book “100 Greatest Women on Coins”.
