Commemorating the 800th anniversary of Saint Elizabeth, this one-ounce silver coin was minted in Budapest (BP) with 4,000 pieces each in mint-state and proof. Elizabeth was married at 14, widowed at 20 and died at 24; as a widow she served the infirmed, built a hospital and became a symbol of Christian Charity and was canonized less than 5 years after her death. This coin shows Saint Elizabeth as the monarch on the obverse; and again feeding the poor on the reverse making it a "Two-fer" of sorts with the saint's image on each side.
