2008-S Andrew Jackson (1829-1837) Presidential Dollar PR70DCAM { PCGS-4 } Another president familiar to Americans from his likeness on the twenty-dollar bill, he first came to national attention from his military exploits during the Battle of New Orleans fought after a peace agreement had been reached in the War of 1812. Nicknamed "Old Hickory" for his toughness and aggressive personality; he fought in duels, some fatal to his opponents. Although he believed in a limited federal government, and was a staunch advocate of states’ rights, during the Nullification Crisis he declared that states do not have the right to nullify federal laws.
