In 2008 the U.S. Mint offered a multitude of Gold Buffalo coins. It offered a $5, $10, $25 and $50 Gold Buffalo coins in mint state and proof format. This is the only year in which the Mint offered all four different denominations. 

The 2008-W $50 Proof Gold Buffalo officially went on sale on July 22, 2008. Each coin had an issue price of $1,199.95. The Gold Buffalo Four Coin Proof Set had an issue price of $2,219.95.
