Facts: Millard Fillmore was the 13th President of the United States. Therefore, the Millard Fillmore Presidential Dollar was the thirteen different design issued in the Presidential Dollar coin Program.
Release Date: The 2009 Fillmore Presidential Dollars were officially released by the U.S. Mint on February 18, 2010. The U.S. Mint held a ceremony for the release of the Fillmore Dollars at Monrovia Central School in Moravia, New York at 10 a.m. (E.T.). At the ceremony anyone under 18 years were given a free Fillmore Presidential Dollar coins. Attendees were given the opportunity to exchange the new Fillmore Dollar coins for face value. U.S. Mint Director Andrew Brunhart presented the new dollar coins at the ceremony.
Sale Price: The U.S. Mint also offered the coins on their web site at a price of $35.95 for each roll containing 25 coins each.
Presidential Dollar Coin Cover: The Mint also offered a Millard Fillmore Presidential Coin Cover. The Fillmore Presidential Dollar Coin Cover had a limited edition of 32,000 sets being sold. Each set consisted of two - Uncirculated 2010 Fillmore Presidential Dollars. One was produced at the Philadelphia Mint and the second at the Denver Mint.
Coins issued in the Presidential Dollar Coin covers were struck on the first day of production and placed in a cardboard holder with a color depiction of Fillmore. The set also had a 44 cent Flag postage stamp. The cover of each set was stamped with the date Feb. 18, 2010, or the first day in which the Fillmore Dollar coins were issued.
