Mintages remained low relative to all other denominations, with the result that the Half Dollar was seldom used or seen in circulation (a situation that persists today). Though somewhat lengthy, this series is easy and affordable to collect as either circulation strikes, Proofs, or both. Some dates, such as 1987-P and D, 2001-P, 2002-P and D, and others were not issued for circulation but are available only in Mint sets, adding a bit of a challenge. The 2010-D Uncirculated Kennedy Half Dollars were only sold to the public for a premium by the U.S Mint. Therefore, they do not enter circulation.

The Uncirculated 2010-D Kennedy Half Dollars went on sale on January 29, 2010 at 12:00 pm (ET). The coins could either be purchased in a 200 coin bag or in two roll sets. The 200 coin bags contained 100 - 2010 Kennedy Half’s from both the Philadelphia Mint and the Denver Mint. Each bag of 200 Kennedy Half’s was priced at $130.95 directly from the U.S. Mint. The two roll sets contain 20 coins in each roll. Each roll has 20 coins from the Philadelphia Mint and the second roll contains 20 coins from the Denver Mint. The two roll set was priced at $32.95 directly from the U.S. Mint.
