The 2010 Boy Scouts Commemorative Uncirculated Silver Dollar coins were produced to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Boy Scouts Program.

History: As of 2010, the Boy Scouts of America Program is the largest youth organization in the U.S. It has close to 3 million young members and over 1 million adult members. Since February 8, 1910, the Boy Scouts of America has had more than 111 million participants in the program.

Overview: On March 23, 2010, the U.S. Mint issued the 2010 Silver Dollar Boy Scout Commemorative coins. Many collectors were predicting a sellout before the coins were even issued by the U.S. Mint. Consequently, the Mint imposed a 100 coin maximum ordering limit per household.

The Mint produced both Uncirculated and Proof versions for the 2010 Boy Scouts Commemorative coins. Between both product options, the maximum authorized mintage was set at 350,000. Both Uncirculated and Proof coins were produced at the Philadelphia Mint.

Mint Issue Price: Uncirculated coins were offered at a pre issue price of $33.95 each from March 23, 2010 to April 21, 2010. The original Mint issue price after April 21st, was set at $35.95 each.

Public Law: Produced under Public Law 110-363

By April 23, 2010 the U.S. Mint did not take any more orders for the 2010 Uncirculated Boy Scouts commemorative coins and it indicated the coins had sold out.
