The 2011-D Native American Dollars were officially released by the U.S. Mint on January 12, 2011. The Mint offered the coins in a special ceremony held in Plymouth, Massachusetts, allowing customers to exchange the coins at face value. Additionally, after the ceremony the Mint gave away a free Native American Dollar coin to children 18 years of age and younger.
Most 2011-D Native American Dollar coins were well struck. Examples in grades up to about MS66 are very common. In MS67 condition they become a little more challenging to locate, yet, still easily obtainable at a very small premium if collectors are unable to find one in circulation. In MS68 condition and higher they are very scarce with few examples known.
