From the WWII Nose Art series of three coins, "Memphis Belle" was immortalized by the 1990 movie of the same name, detailing a B-17 and its crew as it flew its 25th combat mission. This one-ounce silver gem has it pin-up artfully rendered in vivid colors to make it really pop. The aircraft was the namesake of pilot Robert K. Morgan's sweetheart Margaret Polk and resident of Memphis. Robert requested a pin-up from Esquire Magazine to go with the name, and the group artist faithfully reproduced the nose-art on both sides of the B-17. Mintage of this series is 3,000.
