The Herbert Hoover Dollar is the 31^st coin released in the Presidential Dollar coin series and the third Presidential Dollar design released in 2014.

The coins are being issued in 25 coin rolls, each roll contains 25 examples from either the Philadelphia Mint or the Denver Mint. Each 25 coin roll has an issue price of $32.95. The Mint is also issuing the coins in a 100 coin bag with an issue price of $111.95 for each bag. Each bag will contain 100 coins from either the Philadelphia Mint or the Denver Mint. Finally, the Mint offered a 250 coin box which contains 250 Uncirculated Hoover Presidential Dollar coins at an issue price of $275.95 for each box.

Herbert Hoover served in office as the President of the United States from 1929-1933. President Hoover was blamed for the Great Depression by many Americans, which adversely affected his second campaign for Presidency. As a result he lost the Presidential election in 1932. Hoover passed away in 1964. The Mint began honoring past Presidents in 2007 on the Presidential Dollar coins, with George Washington being the first coin issued. Then all consecutive U.S. Presidents will be honored in the Presidential Dollar coins.
