INDIA. Bengal Presidency. Silver Rupee Pattern, "Year 45" (1806). Calcutta (as "Farrukhabad") Mint. in the name of Shah Alam II. PCGS PROOF-65.
KM-Unlisted; Prid-340; Stevens-8.103. Extremely appealing as a proof Gem, this Pattern Rupee delivers charming and lightly mirrored fields, with soft slate gray tone punctuated by more forceful deep toning. As a seldom encountered type, this Rupee highlights the best aspects of the coinage of the Bengal Presidency.
Estimate: $2,500 - $3,000.
