Undated Admiral Vernon Medal. Porto Bello with Vernon's Portrait and Icons. Adams-Chao PBvi 25-OO, M-G 83. Rarity-6. Pinchbeck, fashioned into the top of a corkscrew. Very Fine, Corroded. 34.5 mm x 36.2 mm. 170.4 grains. Laterally oblong on pinchbeck, fashioned into the top of a corkscrew. The edges are a bit eroded and the screw is missing, but the legends are full. There is a bit of tin pest showing as bubbly surfaces. Interestingly, this is from the dies that produced the only known gold Vernon medal. Provenance: From the Sydney F. Martin Collection. Purchased from John Kraljevich, August 14, 2010.
