1953 Crown QEII Coronation MS64 PCGS #393504

I found this in Australia for $5.00 with $3.00 s/h to the US. I spent $25.45 for grading/handling/shipping to PCGS. The total invested in this coin is $31.45. It is the top pop.

I have one better in NGC, but I wanted to start this set and a BN is all I had thaty was worth grading. I am hoping to improve this with time. Mintage is the lowest for any 1d NZ issue. Only 200,000. Also struck for 1965 was a PL set. These were limited to 25,000. I have one at PCGS now. Last, but not least, there were proofs also. I have one graded by NGC as PF66. There were only 10 sets. This was the last large penny NZ had. !966 had no pruduction, and 1967 the country went to the decimal coins and the penny was much smaller. The other interesting fact is that New Zealand no longer uses pennies. Their nickel has also been done away with. They learned about production costs, and use Swedish rounding. The US is just opposite. We make four different pennies, and spare no expense.

1963 1D MS64RD PCGS #394100

This is a nice coin for it's age. I figured it being still a nice red, it would make a MS65. I was wrong. I am still proud to have it registered. When I have the complete set, I may send a few better coins to see if I can improve. I am still striving to take a 1st place, but it remains to be seen.

1961 1D KM-24.2 MS64BN PCGS #394104

I bought this coin on eBay and it will be a nice addition until I can replace it with a red. It has a beautiful tone to it. I used the PCGS imaging to capture the color.

1960 1D KM-24.2 MS65RB PCGS #394108

I bought this from eBay to add to an NGC set. I have it in red, but it filled a slot in NGC cheaper than me trying to get one graded.

1960 1D KM-24.2 MS65RD PCGS #394109

This is the top pop in PCGS and NGC. I expected a lower grade, but I got fooled. I am fortunate to have acquired this coin at a ridiculous price. I am proud have the first and only one graded this high.....so far.

This coin is from Australia. I forget the seller's name. but I am sure glad he had it at auction on eBay. I may never make the #1 set in PCGS, but I will have a great #2 if I don't. This is another great addition for me.

1958 1D MS64RD PCGS #394115

This was a great eBay buy. It was very cheap and turned out nicely, as you can see. I am proud to have this in a PCGS slab.

This coin did not look good on eBay. I bought it to just fill a slot in my collection. It graded quite well. I am happy with it.

1945 1D MS64RB PCGS #394211

This is a great coin for the year. It is the regular planchet variety, and still looks good after all these years. I sent this in with a "burnished" 1945 1d also. It didn't receive the pedigree as such, but PCGS has never seen one. I sent two to NGC, and they refuse to grade them. They(NGC) have a Registry slot, but no one is capable of identifying one. PCGS doesn't even have it listed in this Registry. It did receive it's own number. It is 394210. The first and only only BN graded. It's a good thing too, because these coins were made dark on purpose. I believe there is a coverup on this variety because no one will say for certain if it is, or isn't the elusive variety. I now have four. I can tell the difference.

1956 1D KM-24.1 No Strap AU58BN PCGS #394501

I thought this to be a better grade than AU, but I'll take it. It is difficult to find, and even more so in great condition. This coin has gone to almost $1000.00 in a year in raw condition. This is the highest "strapless" coin I have. I am glad to have this in PCGS instead of NGC.

1956 1D KM-24.2 Strap MS63BN PCGS #394537

This coin came from Alan Coates. At the time it was the best I had. It is still a beautiful coin and has a great grade. I may send my RD in , but this coin is just fine for the present.

1947 1D MS64RB PCGS #533896

Another nice penny from New Zealand. I am looking for a better one.

2009-S $1 Native American PR69DCAM PCGS #406945

I added this to complete the PCGS set of PR69 DCAM Sacagaweas. It is technically the "Native American" dollar. This is the first year the Mint edge incused the date, mint mark, and the E Pluribus Unum.
