Well after 7 Years it was time to start adding the Regular Coins to my favorite Variety Set. I saw this coin and fell in love. Down to 30 Coins Left. cac sticker.
Well The First Year of the Washington Quarter and a DDO to Start off this Set. Coin was purchased thru Paul Battaglia at Rare Coin New Hampshire and this example is free of any hits on the face neck area. Featured in Coin Facts and Paul says could easily be a MS64...........
Took awhile to find a coin that I thought was close to the 32 S. Both have cac stickers.....This coin moved me into 4th place current finest set and finally hit the Top Five All time Finest set. For all of ten minutes until mitch saw my post and upgraded 3 coins lol 1/100 of a point.....looks like coin number 166 will do....

I love doing the research on all my coins, this coin was submitted back in 2004-2005 and found out the next two coins (Heavy Motto) were both graded MS 66. This coin is like most of my others, buy the coin that you believe could upgrade. Even if I never send them back I always feel good about the coin I purchased. Another coin with a clean face and neck area and it appears to have a slight reverse rotated die. First coin purchased 2019. Upgraded to a MS 66 Jan 29 2020

This is the second 66+ 503 that I have found, gave the first one to the phillips collection for all our trades. Will send off a Batch to CAC hopefully this year.
Another Top Pop found in the Wild. Last year I was at 50 percent and 1 year later over 60 percent...2017 was another good year finding these varieties raw or in unattributed holders.
This is My second Goiter with the first being the lowest Graded Example VG 08. There are only 10 examples graded anywhere. This coin is a RARE coin to find Raw or in a Holder. Last example was sold in 2010 and none since than. More than a few of the Top Sets are missing this coin. Yet pcgs price guide is 12 bucks for the vg 08 and only 28 points in the registry.. Makes no sense to me but this new MS 64 example is truly a Beautiful Piece only a TRUE collector could Love............ Its funny a MS 65 Sold for $3,965.63 on March 2nd. Heritage Auction. Now lets see how long it takes our host to update the price guide. I was told that Buy it now coins do not count towards the guide because they want 2 or more bidders to determine it as a REAL Auction. Well the Goiter sold with 5 bidders. So please update your Guide : }The same week on Ebay the brother to the Heritage in MS 64 sold for 2900 Buy it now.6/13/2014 Sold my VG 08 for price guide of the MS65 : } I truly feel the buyer got a Deal and hated to Let it Go. This MS 64 is heading back in for regrade as after seeing the 64 on ebay this coin kicks that coins ass.........

This is the second one I found Raw from Ebay. It's only a MS 64 but Glad that I finally figured out the pickup points.
Found this s/s unattributed in a holder and sent back in for the Variety. Surprised the Variety guy got this one right since it seems he has no clue about the 1952 d ddo and pcgs needs to send him back to variety school.

I looked at this coin for 3 weeks and already had a MS 66 in my set but just decided I had to have it. The reeding on this one is strong and there are no marks on the Obverse or Reverse. CAC Sticker...
With only 3 coins Graded this coin is as Rare as the 1957 d Engraved Tail Feathers. I now have all The varieties for this Set. This Coin was found by BigDowgie who is the King of Varieties for the Nickels. I am thrilled that the coin has ended up in my set.

You really have to look up certificate numbers and than go up and down to see how many coins were made by this company. It took me another coin to learn that when they sell one they probally have 10 others but its all good. Knowledge is Power....
I Believe this coin is the 1950-D/D RPM FS-502 and will send back in for truview and variety.....purchased off ebay in NGC holder 66+ cracked out and sent in raw without variety. If it is its another Top Pop,,,,,,,UpDate I was Wrong but that is why you leave the regular slots open. This is a Nice Coin....

This coin was in a Anacs Slab graded as a MS 64 and thought the coin looked better. The whole idea of building this set is to find most of this raw or cheaply slabbed. There not number 1 coins but they are cheap varieties................It's always better to NOT be buried in your coins.........

This coin upgraded my AU-50 and looks like a nice coin for the grade. Top Pop for now. Used 1000.00 of the profits from the End of World War II 75th Anniversary American Eagle Gold Proof Coin sale so total cost for coin is 42.88
I thought it might be the S/S and it was not and this 67 has to be one of the weakest strikes on the reverse that i have seen. I never send back coins when i am wrong and needed a upgrade from the ms 64 that was in the set.
This is ANOTHER coin that the price guide is WAY OFF. How can a coin drop from 650 to 200 in 1 week when there were NO SALES? All of the 67's are in strong hands as are the 2 66+ and yet the guide drops that much? Well another lesson learned Heritage auctions list the pops of each coin they sell, and in the past 1 month I have noticed there NOT RIGHT. This is another reason to check the pops before buying ANY coin from Heritage.......They are always showing the pops to be lower than what they actually are......what a scam........

This is the DDR 801 and Just and extra one since I have the MS 65 which is listed as the D/D until I send it back for the DDR...
This will be the 4th DDR MS 65 Top Pop. I have held in my hands 3 out of the 4.........Sorry to say pcgs this is the DDR NOT the D/D I do wish it was as the D/D is a 1000 coin compared to the DDR.....Wonder if I can charge them 18 bucks for noticing this...Finally fixed and picked up two vouchers.........

This coin was bought in a 64 holder and looked to nice so I cracked it out and resubmitted. Now In the New Retro Holder......

This Coin comes from "The Brian Due Collection" I feel lucky to have bought this coin and my 1955 from his collection.

Time to start adding Regular coins and since the way our host has the point system it makes no sense to buy a MS 67 for 800 bucks when you can find a 66+ for 100 that looks just as Nice.......
This is one nice looking coin in hand and came with a funny green sticker.....

My second MS 67+ coin and this came From The Stephenville Collection. I never got to meet this collector but admired his dedication to collect all of the series including varieties. Incredible collection. Glad to add two coins from his set. CAC
I discovered the 2nd one of these to be found and it was Stolen along with the 1953 ETF Proof Quarter going to pcgs. Don't know if there will ever be a 66 ....There are 2 Different Reverse Dies and I now own both.........
For a Brief Time I now have two out of the 5 graded examples in hand. Love the New MS 64 with CAC sticker that comes from the Dr Phillips Collection who once again has done me a favor holding the coin for me this past year. Upgrades my AU-55

I thought this was the 59 d/d because of the die lines on the Obverse. But it was Not. Keep Learning....

This coin was found off Ebay for 28 bucks already in a Anacs Blue Holder MS 64 Holder WITH The Variety. Cracked it Out and it is Now Tied for the Top Pop.....
As soon as I saw the first one graded I got lucky buying a Roll from Ebay that had 6 examples...My best Roll score to date....

Buy Them Raw and Make them Yourself.....But with a 24 Variety Fee this coin is a WASH..............Still a true collector will make most of his own and its more fun.
