Lincoln Cents Basic Set, Proof (1950-1958)

This is the "short set" of so-called "wheat back" Proof Lincoln cents. Proof Lincolns weren't issued from 1943 through 1949, so when the series was renewed in 1950 it was considered a new set by many collectors. The year 1958 was the final one for this design, as the Memorial reverse was introduced in 1959 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Lincoln’s birth. There are only nine coins in the set, so it is affordable for almost every collector.
