关于此套币:
Gold coins of the Old West with a few from Philadelphia.
The Civil War was over and the Carson City Mint opened to begin production in 1870. Many of these coins circulated in commerce. The motto "In God We Trust" first appeared on gold coins in 1866.
The 1870 Carson City issue is far and away the most expensive Type Two Double Eagle with a price of $190,000 according to Collectors Universe latest price guide in XF. In 1987-88 there were five coins I know of which either sold at public auctions or by dealers for prices ranging from $20,900 (the Charles Kramer specimen in 1988) to $30,000 from a Florida dealer.
