Los Angeles Lakers Legends Signature Set (2002-present)

In recognition of the 60th Anniversary of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame (NMBHOF), the United States Mint launched a special commemorative coin program that included a special basketball theme on clad half dollar, silver dollar, and gold $5 coins. During this 2020 commemorative program, PCGS was proud to partner directly with the recipient organization, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, to create an all-star lineup of Signature Labels with some of the biggest names in basketball, past and present, to be paired with the Basketball Hall of Fame Commemorative Coins and other coins the NMBHOF approved.

This set is designed to honor the players, coaches, and owners who donned the iconic purple and gold emblematic of the Los Angeles Lakers. There is a wide mix of Signature Labels here, from Hall of Famers to World Champions and so on – some more challenging than others! This set is a work in progress.
