U.S. Cents Complete Date Set, Circulation Strikes (1793-present)

While other denominations come and go, or pass through periods where their striking is suspended for several years, the humble cent goes on. It has been minted continuously, every year since 1793 save only one year, 1815, and that was due to a copper shortage stemming from the War of 1812. For a fascinating panorama of the history of American Coinage, it's hard to beat this set. From the first Chain Cents of 1793, though the beloved Indian Cents of the Civil War era to the ubiquitous Lincoln Cent, the cent truly tells the story of our nation's coinage. Fortunately as well, none of the dates are unaffordable. Not all are inexpensive though, and the 1793, 1799 and 1804 will present something of a challenge. In fact, finding a truly choice 1799 or 1804 is downright difficult. However, lower grade examples can be found, and when complete, few sets can match the date set of cents an unbroken story of U.S. coinage.
