1807 10C JR-1 AU53 PCGS. Only 6 Finer. Struck from a late die state, with a noticeable die bulge at ERT of LIBERTY and extensive die clashing on the obverse. The strike is diagnostically weak at the left obverse stars and on the reverse legend, although the hard-used dies held up remarkably well in their final use to strike 165,000 pieces. Light silver-gray surfaces show almond-gold toning at the margins and glimpses of remaining mint luster.
