R-4. This is ex-Jules Reiver, purchased from W. David Perkins in his sealed bid auction of August 2014
R-2 CAC. Plate Coin. Far scarcer than R-2 would indicate. Good luck finding one, you will need it!

I consider this remarriage with the retained cud to be an R-4 die state of an R-1 die marriage.

An R-3 die marriage, but Logan and McCloskey state the LM-10.3 remarriage is the rarest of the LM-10 remarriages. Likely R-6 or a bit tougher.
R-5. Ex-Stephen A Crain. CAC. "Here is what Steve wrote about this coin: First seen (and attributed) at show in 11-94. Was part of type set, housed in Wayte Raymond National coin album, bought at auction by Don Brennan (part of a Massachusetts estate)." Crain bought this coin on August 13, 1995 and held it for 24 years!
ex-Eric Newman, when it was in an NGC MS63 holder. Sports a gold CAC sticker
R-2 marriage. Quite rare remarriage, likely R-7. Plate coin from half dime text.

R-7. Of six known examples, this one sits in the middle of the census
R-2...much rarer with this late die state. Got to be my favorite!
R-3 die marriage. Mint state examples quite difficult to find. Had this coin been listed in the 2015 census, it would have been finest reported.
Remarriage is often mis-attributed. At least R-5 and probably R-6 when attributed properly.
R-7. One of maybe five known, and this is the only one in a "problem-free holder"

Formerly R-5, now R-4. Extremely difficult to find this die marriage above VF. Consider choice XF and higher graded examples to be valued keepers!
