A "problem free" watch fob/token of the scarcer 1796 variety. Columbia appears to be a model of watch manufactured in Springfield Illinois contemporary to date engraved. I have yet to feel the need to replace this example because it tells an important story of how some of our early quarters found prolonged utility and serves as a “bookend” to the more traditional graded examples in this set.
Extremely rare terminal die state with lovely original "skin". Only a handful exist of this dramatic obverse break. Provenance: Northeast--Rea--Merkin 2/71 Alongside the late state of 1805 B2 and the cud on 1806 B-8 this is one of the very few dramatic breaks in the draped quarter series.
