Franklin Half Dollars FBL Date Set, Circulation Strikes (1948-1963)

While the Date Set of Franklin Halves avoids some of the more difficult date/mm combinations such as the 1949-D or 1950-D, achieving a set rating over MS-67 has proven elusive. Truly gem Franklins are difficult to find, and while completing this set is not particularly challenging, getting to the top of the Registry is. Some of the early 1960s dates with Full Bell Lines can be surprisingly tough to find in grades above MS-65. In fact, PCGS has graded fewer than one FBL example per year above MS-65 for the dates 1961 and 1962.
