This is the coin that began my love of toned Jefferson nickels. Though modest compared to others I have seen, it's luster and subtle dashes of color look absolutely gorgeous in person. The reverse toning resembles a meteor shower over the Monticello.

1944-S 5C MS65

The strike is not the strongest, but it is obviously the toning that makes the coin such a stunner. The reverse luster is even more striking in hand. It is coins like this that have inspired me to start this collection.
