Liberty Head $5 Gold Date Set, Circulation Strikes (1839-1908)

The Liberty set of half eagles consists of the No Motto and Motto types. Every date is available, although numerous No Motto issues and the Motto issues from the 1860s and 1870s are very difficult to nearly impossible to obtain in Uncirculated condition. This makes a striking set, as it is gold of course, and collectors have coveted half eagles for generations. The legendary names from the past such as William Woodin, Waldo Newcomer, Col. E.H.R. Green, and others had impressive sets of half eagles. The finished set is quite an accomplishment and is a highlight of any collection.
