Liberty Seated Quarters Date Set, Circulation Strikes (1838-1891)

One of the advantages of building a Date Set is that you can usually avoid extreme rarities. In any given year, at least one of the mints typically produced enough coins to yield a sufficient supply today. For the Seated Quarter set, this is mostly true, as the tough "CC" mints of the early 1870s can be bypassed. However this is not to say that this date set is devoid of challenges or slightly better dates. Collectors will find the tougher dates in two spots; the first five issues (1838-42) and the years immediately following the Civil War (1866-69). That said, these dates are only moderately difficult, and this set remains quite completable given a modest amount of money and patience.
