Robec's "Kaleidoscope of Color" Pre-WW2 Proof Lincolns
关于此套币:
Continuing with the colorful theme of the Matte Proof Lincoln's, I decided to do the same with the proofs of 1936-42. I stumbled on to this by accident as I had no idea that any series beyond the Mattes could possibly be as colorful. I had noticed that the Dave Kelly set and the Duane Blake/Mike S. set had these incredible neon colored examples. I know that this type of proof isn't for everyone and in fact is probably looked down on from some. But they float my boat and are harder than hen's teeth to find. It took Mike S. 4 1/2 years to fill his set and that after going coast to coast in search for them. I was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time when this set, owned by Duane Blake at the time, came up for sale. Included in the terms of sale was, as they say, "an offer I couldn't refuse". As good as TrueViews are, they don't come close to showcasing the beauty and brilliance these coins possess. In hand their appearance is almost like neon in glass. I am proud to own them and it will be a cold day before they leave my collection.
My thanks to Duane and Mike.
