As the Great Depression wore on, the nation's need for new coinage remained minimal. Cents were struck this year in Philadelphia and Denver, and a commemorative quarter was struck to mark the bicentennial of Washington's birth. It proved so popular, that two years later, it became a regular issue which continues to this day. The Denver and San Francisco issues of the 1932 Quarter both saw mintages of less than half a million pieces, making them keys to the set.
