The Gem State Collection

关于此套币: I started this set when my numismatic interests were rekindled after buying a bit of silver bullion a few years ago. These 24 coins have been upgraded since then a number of times. At first, I assembled nothing more than a poor collection of cleaned, whizzed, and overpriced dollars. My gradual understanding of these problems led to certified coins and eventually the PCGS Set Registry. The next incarnation was mostly MS63 coins. Now, many years and upgrades later, things are moving slowly. This isn’t the most efficient way to assemble a set, but I’ve learned an enormous amount along the way. This series was a good one for getting restarted in the hobby and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

In its present state, I'm pretty happy with the collection. The coins that best meet my personal standards are the 1921!, 1924, 1925!, 1926-D, 1927-S, 1928, 1934-D, 1934-S, and the 1935-P.

Larry Shapiro helped me find most of these and several are just fantastic - among the top of all extant Peace dollars.
