1999 Proof Set

Proof Sets beginning in 1999 would enter an entirely new phase, as the U.S. Mint began a series of special issues which would eventually cover all the denominations and continue to the present day. The first of the special issues was the State Quarter Program, which would begin this year and last through 2008. It would feature five different States each year, released in their order of admission to the Union. Both clad and 90% silver strikings would be released. Additionally the Anthony Dollar was struck one last time in 1999 after an 18 year hiatus.
