The wounded eagle, also known as the speared eagle, has a die gouge that goes through the body of the eagle.
General Mills added this Sacagawea dollar in some of their Cheerios boxes. A total of 5,500 were released. It is unknown how many were spent. It was later discovered that these coins were made from a different die than was used later for the business strikes that were relased later. The "Cheerios" variety has more defined wing and tail feathers than coins released for circulation.
