关于此套币: The Findley Ridge Collection is the culmination of the love affair I have with Dahlonega, the town, the history, and of course the US Branch Mint.

I am now a nugget head (the somewhat derogatory nickname given to residents of Dahlonega) and live less than 10 miles as the crow flies up on the mountain ridge to the north of the square. I have always been fascinated by the history of the area and in particular with the understanding as to why a mint was ever established in Dahlonega. The search for the truth has been as much fun as putting this type set together. Think about it. Most collectors can not even pronounce Dahlonega, few have any idea where Dahlonega is located, and rightfully so. The town today has a population of just over 5K, and yet the Federal Government built a massive structure on the hill over looking town square where only one other brick structure existed 1838. The United States Branch Mint at Dahlonega GA is an amazing story, much of it still being figured out today as records of the era are so scarce.

The Findley Ridge Collection is a type set of exquisite Dahlonega Gold coins, many pedigreed to some of the finest Dahlonega collections ever assembled. I have brought these amazing coins back home. They now rest in a safe deposit box just a stones throw from where they were struck over 150 years ago. The major focus of this set is on originality. So many D-mint coins have been mis- handled, dipped, stripped, or just out right doctored. Every effort has been made to only include unmolested coins here.
